The Westin Long Beach, a 469-room hotel in the Southern California city's downtown district, has kicked off a $23 million renovation. The project is expected to be completed this summer. Among the improvements will be the debut of the Navy Proof Food & Spirits restaurant and the Bluestone Lane café, along with a refreshed lobby and revitalized guest rooms.
The project aims to redefine the lobby and adjacent F&B outlets as a sophisticated gathering spot for both guests and locals. The new design of the spaces is inspired by the California coastline and will showcase white marble floors, custom tree-canopy rugs, white oak, tan leather, brass lighting fixtures and custom art, along with neutral paint tones to complement those materials and features.
Howe & Brown Hospitality is behind Navy Proof Food & Spirits, the new restaurant adjacent to the lobby. The menu will consist of new American cuisine and craft cocktails, and the place will serve lunch and dinner daily and brunch on weekends. The space will have a new look in addition to the new name and menu, with a redesigned floor plan and new marble floor, new furniture, a three-story chandelier and a mammoth green wall.
Also on the ground floor, the Australian-inspired brand Bluestone Lane promises to be a hub of coffee culture and will serve premium coffee and healthy food options.
Guest rooms have been redone in a calming palette of gray and gold tones, with some sunset-inspired pastel hues thrown in for that California coastal touch.
The hotel also offers a heated outdoor pool, a fitness center and more than 51,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
